Overview
This guide explains how to properly create a music video asset in your catalog so that streams, reporting, and royalty allocation are accurate.
Step 1: Access the Video Section
- From the dashboard, open the left-hand panel.
- Go to Releases » Videos.
- If the section is unavailable, click the Get Access button to enable video distribution on your account.
Step 2: Create a New Video
- Click Create New.
- Choose either:
- Single video (one music video, the standard option)
- Video album (multiple video tracks released together)
Step 3: Add Video Track Metadata
Option A: Use an Existing Audio Track
- Select the existing track from your catalog.
- Replace the audio ISRC with the video ISRC (vISRC). This is critical. Audio and video must always have separate ISRCs.
Option B: Create a New Track
If the video is not tied to an existing audio release, create a new video track with the following required fields:
- Video title
- Artist name
- vISRC
Add Release Metadata
For the video release itself, the required fields are:
- Metadata language
- Video title (must match the track title for a single video)
- Artist
- UPC (optional)
- vISRC (optional at the release level if already set on the track)
Step 4: Upload Thumbnail
- Recommended size: 1280 x 720
- Maximum file size: 2 MB
- Use a high-quality still from the video itself or a custom-designed thumbnail. Avoid text-heavy designs.
Step 5: Submit for Distribution
Once metadata, video file, and thumbnail are uploaded, submit the video for review. Quality control typically takes 5 to 7 business days. You will be notified by email if there are any issues to fix before delivery.
