How to Take Down Your Music from DSPs

If you need to remove a release from streaming platforms, you can request a takedown directly from your InterSpace Distribution dashboard.

When Should I Request a Takedown?

  • You are transferring to a different distributor
  • You no longer want the release available publicly
  • You discovered a rights issue or mistake that cannot be corrected any other way
  • A legal order requires removal

How to Request a Takedown

  1. Log into your dashboard and go to Releases
  2. Open the release you want to remove
  3. Look for the Takedown option in the release actions menu
  4. Confirm the request

Alternatively, contact our support team via the Help Desk with your release details and a takedown will be processed for you.

How Long Does Takedown Take?

After your request is submitted, removal from streaming platforms typically takes:

  • Spotify / Apple Music: 3–7 business days
  • Other platforms: 5–14 business days

Some platforms like YouTube Content ID may take longer.

Important Warnings

Warning: A takedown is permanent and cannot be undone. All streams, playlist placements, and Spotify follower counts associated with the release will be lost.
  • Do not take down a release you intend to redistribute — use the same ISRC code on the new distribution to maintain history
  • Outstanding royalties earned before the takedown will still be paid out on schedule
  • Pre-existing saves and playlist adds may be removed by DSPs upon takedown
