Account Verification (KYC)

What is KYC verification?

KYC (Know Your Customer) verification confirms your identity and is required by anti-money-laundering and tax-reporting rules. Completing it unlocks royalty withdrawals and full platform features on your InterSpace account.

Where to submit

  • Web: log in to your dashboard, open My Profile → Account Settings and click Submit KYC, or go directly to the KYC Verification page.
  • iOS app: open Wallet → Identity verification.

Accepted documents

  • NIN (National ID Number) — 11 digits
  • International Passport
  • Driver’s Licence
  • National ID Card
  • Voter’s Card

For two-sided documents (National ID, Driver’s Licence, Voter’s Card) you must upload both the front and the back. Passports and NIN slips only need the front.

What you will need to provide

  • Full legal name exactly as written on your document (first and last name)
  • Date of birth — you must be at least 18 years old
  • Nationality and country of residence
  • Residential address
  • Document number (and issue/expiry dates where the document carries them — expired documents are not accepted)
  • Clear photos of your document — JPG, PNG, WEBP, HEIC or PDF, max 10 MB per file
  • A selfie — see below

The live selfie step

On the web, the selfie is captured with your camera through a quick liveness check: look at the camera, hold still for a moment, then slowly turn your head left and right when prompted. Good lighting and an unobscured face make this much faster. If your camera is unavailable, use the “Upload a file instead” link.

In the iOS app, take or upload a selfie of yourself holding your ID document so your face and the document are both clearly visible.

Review and statuses

  • Pending — our compliance team is reviewing your documents. This usually takes 1–2 business days, and you will get a notification when it is done.
  • Approved — you are verified and withdrawals are unlocked.
  • Rejected — the rejection reason is shown on the KYC page. Correct the issue and resubmit from the same page (or from the app).

Your music distribution continues as normal while verification is pending; only payout requests wait for approval.

Common reasons submissions fail

  • A required field was left empty — every field above is mandatory.
  • The document number does not match the expected format (for example, a NIN must be exactly 11 digits).
  • The document is expired.
  • Photos are blurry, cropped, or too large (over 10 MB).
  • The selfie is missing, or the back of a two-sided document was not uploaded.
