My Release Was Paused for an Audio Fingerprint / Content Match

To stop unauthorized and duplicate uploads, both InterSpace and the stores fingerprint audio. If your track matches something already in the system, your release is paused and flagged for a possible content / fingerprint match so a human can check it.

Why a match can flag your own song

  • You already released the same track through another distributor, so its fingerprint is on file.
  • You re-uploaded your own track (e.g. a new release of an existing song).
  • It is a cover, remix, or contains a sample of another recording.
  • A low-confidence partial match needs manual confirmation.

A flag is not an accusation — it just means we need to confirm you have the rights before delivering.

How to clear it

  1. Confirm you own or control the recording.
  2. Reply on the notification / open a ticket stating you are the original owner. Include the release title and any evidence — for example, that you are moving from another distributor, and a takedown confirmation from that distributor.
  3. If you moved from another distributor, take the track down there first. While the old release is still live, its fingerprint keeps matching and can block delivery. See Transferring from another distributor.
  4. If it is a cover or uses a sample, make sure you have the right licence — see Cover Songs: What Licenses Are Needed?

What not to do

Do not resubmit the same release repeatedly — it will keep hitting the same match. Resolve the flag with the team once, and we will release the hold. Related: Why Was My Release Rejected? and How does the Quality Control process work?
