Why Was My Release Rejected?
If your release was rejected during quality control review, you will receive a notification explaining the specific reason. Below are the most common rejection reasons and how to fix them.
Common Rejection Reasons
❌ Cover Art Does Not Meet Requirements
Problem: Cover art is not square, too small (under 3000×3000px), too large (over 10 MB), wrong format, or contains prohibited elements.
Fix: Export a new cover art image at exactly 3000×3000px (or larger), square, as a JPG or PNG under 10 MB.
❌ Audio Quality Issues
Problem: The audio file is clipping, distorted, too quiet, below minimum bitrate (for MP3), or has excessive silence.
Fix: Re-export your master file as a WAV at 44.1 kHz, 16-bit minimum. Ensure the peak level is below 0 dBFS.
❌ Metadata Errors
Problem: Track title is in ALL CAPS, featuring artists are in the title instead of the dedicated field, composer field is blank, or artist name does not match your profile.
Fix: Review each metadata field carefully. Fix capitalisation, move featuring artists to the correct field, and fill in all required fields.
❌ Missing Composer Credit
Problem: The composer/songwriter field is empty on one or more tracks.
Fix: Add the full legal name of the person(s) who wrote the song to the Composer field for every track.
❌ Copyright / Rights Issue
Problem: The release contains samples, interpolations, or a cover song without the appropriate clearance or licence.
Fix: Obtain the required mechanical licence for cover songs, or provide proof of sample clearance. Do not distribute music you do not have the rights to release.
❌ Explicit Content Not Flagged
Problem: The track contains explicit language but the Explicit flag was set to Clean.
Fix: Edit the track and set the Explicit flag to Yes before resubmitting.
