Understanding Release Scheduling
When you create a release on InterSpace Distribution, you choose when your music goes live on streaming platforms. You have two options: ASAP or a specific scheduled date.
Option 1 — Release as Soon as Possible (ASAP)
Choose ASAP if you want your music to go live as quickly as possible. After your release is approved by our team, it will be delivered to all selected DSPs within 3–5 business days.
Rush fee: ASAP releases require a priority processing fee which is charged at the final submission step. The fee amount is shown in your local currency on the scheduling page.
Option 2 — Specific Scheduled Date
Choose a specific calendar date if you are planning a coordinated release with a marketing campaign, playlist pitching, or promotional rollout.
Minimum Lead Times by Plan
| Plan | Minimum Date | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 16 days from today | Standard processing queue |
| Artiste | 5 days from today | Priority processing |
| Artiste Plus | 5 days from today | Priority processing |
| Label | 5 days from today | Priority processing |
Can I Change the Release Date After Submitting?
Yes — you can change your release date at any time before your release is approved by our team. Once approved, the release date is locked and cannot be changed without contacting support.
What Is the Best Day to Release Music?
The global standard music release day is Friday. New music released on Fridays is eligible for editorial playlists, New Music Friday features on Spotify, and similar discovery placements. For the best results, always aim for a Friday release date.
Spotify Playlist Pitching
To be considered for Spotify editorial playlists, you must submit your release for pitching at least 7 days before the release date through Spotify for Artists. This means you need to have your release submitted and approved on InterSpace well in advance — we recommend at least 3–4 weeks ahead.
