How to Distribute a Music Video

Supported Platforms for Music Videos

InterSpace distributes music videos to:

  • YouTube / VEVO — your video is delivered to your VEVO channel (or a general YouTube channel if you do not qualify for VEVO)
  • Apple Music — music videos appear on your Apple Music artist page
  • Tidal — for subscribers with video access
  • Amazon Music — for Prime Video Music subscribers

Video File Requirements

  • Format: MOV or MP4 (H.264 codec recommended)
  • Minimum resolution: 1920 × 1080 px (Full HD) — 4K (3840 × 2160) is recommended for future-proofing
  • Aspect ratio: 16:9 (widescreen) — this is required by all platforms
  • Frame rate: 24, 25, or 30 fps
  • Audio in video: Stereo, 48 kHz, 16-bit minimum
  • Maximum file size: 2 GB
  • Minimum duration: 60 seconds

What Makes a Video Eligible for VEVO?

VEVO has additional requirements:

  • The audio release (single/album) must already be distributed through InterSpace
  • The video must be a professionally produced official music video (not a lyric video or visualiser)
  • The artist must have a minimum streaming history (VEVO reviews this at its discretion)
  • Lyric videos and visualisers can still be distributed to YouTube directly, but may not qualify for VEVO

How to Submit Your Music Video

  1. Log in to your InterSpace dashboard and navigate to Releases.
  2. Click Upload New Release and select Music Video as the release type.
  3. Link the video to its corresponding audio release (so ISRC codes are matched).
  4. Upload your video file and complete all metadata fields.
  5. Select your target video platforms.
  6. Submit — video quality control takes 5–7 business days.

Common Rejection Reasons for Videos

  • Incorrect aspect ratio (not 16:9)
  • Visible platform watermarks from other services
  • Third-party copyright content used without clearance (clips, samples)
  • Poor audio sync with the visual
  • Explicit visual content not flagged correctly
