Catalog transfer process

Catalog Transfer Process

Transferring a large catalog of releases to InterSpace Distribution follows the same principle as a single release transfer — but requires more planning.

Step 1 — Export Your Existing Metadata

Before you start, obtain a full metadata export from your current distributor including:

  • All release titles, artist names, and track titles
  • All ISRC codes for each track
  • All UPC/EAN barcodes for each release
  • Original release dates

This information is critical for maintaining streaming history.

Step 2 — Prioritise Your Catalog

Start with your most important and active releases. Transfer your best-performing releases first so they are live on InterSpace sooner.

Step 3 — Re-Submit Each Release

For each release:

  1. Create a new release on InterSpace using the exact same metadata
  2. Enter your existing ISRC codes for each track
  3. Enter your existing UPC barcode for the release
  4. Submit for review

Step 4 — Wait for Approval

Our team reviews each release within 1–2 business days. Once approved, delivery to DSPs takes 3–5 business days.

Step 5 — Remove from Old Distributor

Only after each release is confirmed live on InterSpace should you remove it from your previous distributor.

Step 6 — Update Your Links

Update SmartLinks, social media bios, press kits, and any promotional material with new links.
