Technical Requirements
- Minimum dimensions: 3000 × 3000 pixels (square only)
- Recommended: 3000 × 3000 px at 300 DPI
- File format: JPEG (.jpg) or PNG (.png)
- Colour mode: RGB (not CMYK — CMYK is for print, not screens)
- Maximum file size: 50 MB
Content Rules
The following content will cause your release to be rejected:
- Website URLs, social media handles (e.g., @artistname, soundcloud.com/...)
- Streaming platform logos (Spotify, Apple Music, Tidal, etc.)
- Pricing or promotional language ("Buy Now", "Free Download", "#1 Album")
- Third-party brand logos or copyrighted imagery without a licence
- Sexually explicit imagery (without adult content authorisation)
- Misleading content intended to deceive listeners
- Low-quality, blurry, pixelated, or stretched images
- Letterboxed or non-square artwork (added borders/bars)
What IS Allowed
- Your artist name and release title as text
- Custom photography, illustrations, and graphic design
- Your own label logo
- Parental advisory sticker (for explicit releases)
Quick Checklist Before Uploading
- Is the file exactly square (same width and height)?
- Is the minimum dimension 3000 px on each side?
- Is it saved as JPEG or PNG in RGB colour mode?
- Does it contain any URLs, social handles, or streaming logos? (Remove them if so.)
- Does it look clear and sharp at small thumbnail size?
Fixing Rejected Artwork
If your release was rejected due to artwork issues, you will receive an email detailing the specific reason. Fix the issue in your design software, re-export at the correct specifications, and re-upload through your dashboard. Your release date will not be changed as long as you resubmit promptly.
