What Royalty Splits Do
A royalty split lets you share your InterSpace earnings automatically with the people who helped make your music, such as producers, co-writers, featured artists, and collaborators. Instead of collecting everything yourself and paying people manually, InterSpace pays each collaborator their agreed percentage directly.
Who Can Use Splits
Royalty splits are available on paid plans (Artist, Artist Plus, and Label), and to label partners. If you are on the Free plan, you will be prompted to upgrade before you can send a split invite.
How It Works
- Open the Royalty Splits section of your artist dashboard.
- Choose Invite Collaborator and enter their email and the percentage you want to give them.
- Set the scope of the split. You can apply it to a single track, a whole release, or your catalogue.
- Your collaborator receives an invite by email and accepts it (creating a free account if they do not have one).
- Once accepted, the split becomes active and is applied when royalties are distributed.
Important Rules
- Splits must not exceed 100% per track. The percentages you give to collaborators are deducted from your share, and you keep whatever is left (your residual).
- You stay in control. You can revoke or resend a pending invite at any time before it is accepted.
- Splits apply going forward. They affect royalties distributed after the split is active, so set them up early.
- Each collaborator sees only their own share and their earnings from it.
Tips
- Agree on percentages with your collaborators in writing before you invite them.
- Set up your splits before or right after release, so earnings are shared from day one.
- Make sure you enter the correct collaborator email, since the invite goes there.
If a collaborator did not receive their invite, ask them to check spam, then use Resend. For help, open a support ticket.
