Pre-Save Campaign Best Practices — Maximise Your Release Day Impact

1. Start Early

Launch your pre-save campaign 4–6 weeks before release day. Many artists wait until 1–2 weeks out, which limits how much time they have to build awareness. The earlier you start, the more touchpoints you create with fans.

2. Lock Your Release Date Before Launching

Never change your release date after launching a pre-save campaign. If you do, fans who pre-saved may receive their notification on the original date and find nothing available. Confirm your date with InterSpace before going public.

3. Tease the Music — Do Not Just Share the Link

A pre-save link with no context does not convert. Pair every pre-save link share with:

  • A 15–30 second audio/video snippet of the song
  • A short story about the track — what inspired it?
  • Behind-the-scenes content from the recording or video shoot
  • Countdown content ("7 days left...")

4. Add It to Your Bio Link Immediately

As soon as your pre-save campaign is live, add it as the top block on your Bio Link page. This means every fan who clicks your Instagram, TikTok, or Twitter bio link sees the pre-save first.

5. Enable Fan Email Collection

Always enable the email capture form. Even if only 20% of pre-savers submit their email, those are highly engaged fans who you can contact directly for future releases. See How to Collect Fan Emails.

6. Add Facebook/Google Pixel Tracking

If you are running paid ads to promote your pre-save, add your Facebook Pixel or Google Analytics tag to the campaign. This lets you:

  • Measure ad ROI in terms of pre-saves (not just clicks)
  • Build a retargeting audience of people who visited but did not pre-save
  • Create lookalike audiences from your pre-savers for future campaigns

7. Email Your List on Release Day

On release day, send an email to every fan you collected during the pre-save campaign. The email should include:

  • Direct streaming links (your Smart Link)
  • A personal message from you
  • A call to action — "Share with a friend", "Add to your playlist", "Leave a review"

8. After Release: Leave Your Smart Link in Place

Once the release is live, InterSpace automatically redirects your pre-save link to the Smart Link. You do not need to change anything — fans who bookmarked the pre-save URL will now land on the streaming page.
