Mandatory Artist Roles
InterSpace Distribution requires the following roles to be filled for every release before it can be submitted.
At Release Level
- Primary Artist — required on all releases. This is the artist name that appears on DSPs.
At Track Level
- Composer / Songwriter — at least one must be credited on every track
- Track Title — required for every track
Why Are These Mandatory?
DSPs including Apple Music, Spotify, and Amazon require this information for content ingestion. Releases submitted without these fields will fail DSP quality checks and be rejected.
Commonly Missed Fields
- Forgetting to add composers when the artist is also the songwriter
- Listing featuring artists in the track title instead of the dedicated field
- Leaving the Publisher field blank — if you self-publish, enter your own name
