Where your music goes on the free plan
When you distribute through InterSpace on the free plan, your music is delivered to the standard catalogue of streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, Boomplay, Deezer, and others listed in your dashboard). However, the free plan does not include delivery to User-Generated Content (UGC) platforms.
What are UGC platforms?
UGC platforms are services where users create short videos, reels, or content using music as a soundtrack. The major UGC platforms are:
- TikTok (and CapCut)
- Instagram Reels and Facebook (Meta's music library)
- Snapchat Sounds
- YouTube Content ID (the rights management system, not YouTube Music)
These platforms are included on paid plans (Artist Plan and above).
Quick comparison
| Platform type | Examples | Free plan | Paid plans |
|---|---|---|---|
| Streaming (listen) | Spotify, Apple Music, Audiomack, Deezer | Yes | Yes |
| UGC (short video) | TikTok, Instagram/Facebook, Snapchat | No | Yes |
| YouTube Content ID | YouTube rights management | No | Yes |
Why does this matter?
If you want your song to appear in TikTok's sound library so fans can use it in their videos, or if you want your music registered with YouTube Content ID so you earn royalties when your songs are used on YouTube, you need to upgrade to a paid plan before submitting the release. Adding UGC delivery to a release that is already live requires a metadata re-delivery, which takes additional time.
How to add UGC platforms to a release that is already live
- Upgrade your plan to Artist Plan or above.
- Open a support ticket requesting that UGC delivery be enabled for your live releases.
- The team will submit a re-delivery. Allow 5 to 10 business days for TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat to process.
Audio fingerprint matches and UGC delivery
Even on a paid plan, UGC delivery is paused if your release triggers an audio fingerprint match during quality control. This is separate from the plan tier. See My Release Was Paused for an Audio Fingerprint / Content Match for details on how to resolve a fingerprint flag.
Does the free plan include TikTok at all?
No. TikTok distribution requires a paid plan. If your dashboard shows a TikTok fingerprint warning, it is from the audio scan that runs on every upload, not from an active delivery attempt on a free plan. To get your music into TikTok's sound library, upgrade and then contact support if you need the release re-delivered.
