Where MCN Revenue Comes From
Channels in the InterSpace MCN earn from several sources:
- Ad revenue on your own videos — display, overlay, and video ads served on your uploads
- Content ID claims — ad revenue from other creators' videos that use your music
- YouTube Premium — a share of subscription revenue based on watch time from Premium members
- YouTube Shorts — revenue from the Shorts monetisation pool where eligible
Reporting Cycle
YouTube reports network earnings on a monthly cycle, typically making the previous month's data available around the middle of the following month. Once processed, your YouTube earnings appear in the Finance section of your InterSpace dashboard alongside your streaming royalties.
Revenue Split
The revenue share between you and the network is set out in your MCN agreement, which you receive and accept during the application process. Your dashboard always shows your net earnings — the amount payable to you.
Payouts
MCN earnings are paid out through the same payment method and schedule as your distribution royalties. The same minimum payment threshold applies — see Minimum Payment Threshold in the Royalties & Payments section.
Things That Affect Your Earnings
- Advertiser demand: CPM rates vary by season, viewer country, and content category
- Viewer location: views from different countries earn different rates
- Ad suitability: videos flagged as not advertiser-friendly earn less or nothing
- Claim disputes: revenue from disputed claims is held by YouTube until the dispute is resolved
