Why Claim Your Profile?
Spotify for Artists (artists.spotify.com) is Spotify's free artist management tool. Once you claim your profile, you can:
- Update your artist bio, photo, and social links
- Pin a specific release to the top of your profile
- See real-time streaming analytics (streams, listeners, saves, playlist adds)
- Submit upcoming releases for editorial playlist pitching
- Access demographic data about your listeners (age, gender, location)
Step 1: Distribute Your Music Through InterSpace First
Your music must be live on Spotify before you can claim your profile. If this is your first release, wait until it appears on Spotify (typically 5–7 days after submission).
Step 2: Claim Your Profile
- Go to artists.spotify.com.
- Click Get Access and log in with a Spotify account.
- Search for your artist name and select your correct profile.
- Choose how you want to verify — via a team member who already has access, or by submitting a request to Spotify directly.
- Spotify will review your request and grant access (typically within 3–5 business days).
What If My Music Is Under a Different Artist Name on Spotify?
Spotify creates artist profiles based on the artist name in the metadata you submit. If your music appears under a slightly different spelling or a different profile, you can:
- Claim the existing Spotify profile (even if the name is slightly off).
- Once claimed, update the artist name to the correct spelling via Spotify for Artists settings.
- If there are two separate Spotify profiles that should be merged, contact InterSpace support — we can request a profile merge from Spotify on your behalf.
Claiming Your Apple Music for Artists Profile
- Go to artists.apple.com and sign in with your Apple ID.
- Search for your artist name.
- Follow the verification steps — Apple may ask for social media profile links or other proof that you are the artist.
- Approval typically takes 3–7 business days.
Getting Your Blue Checkmark / Verified Badge
Platform verification badges are awarded by the platforms themselves and cannot be granted by InterSpace. Each platform has its own eligibility criteria:
- Spotify — all claimed Spotify for Artists profiles are considered verified (blue checkmark in their system)
- Apple Music — verified automatically once you claim your profile via Apple Music for Artists
- YouTube — you can apply for a verification badge once you reach 100,000 subscribers
- TikTok — TikTok evaluates accounts for verification based on notability and follower count
